PositionScale Launches 2025 National Lab Experience Survey to Improve Canadian Research Communities

Vancouver, Canada, Feb 6, 2025 – PositionScale, a leading advocate for enhanced research environments, is proud to announce the launch of the 2025 National Lab Experience Survey. This initiative aims to gather candid feedback from students and early-career researchers about their experiences in Canadian laboratories, emphasizing mentorship, career support, and overall working conditions.

Research success is more than data—it’s deeply tied to the experiences and satisfaction of the researchers themselves. While universities routinely evaluate student progress, there is often minimal opportunity for researchers to provide meaningful feedback regarding leadership, mentorship quality, and institutional support. The 2025 National Lab Experience Survey addresses this gap by giving researchers a direct channel to voice their experiences and propose improvements.

“Too often, student concerns regarding mentorship and career development go unheard,” said Negin Kazemian, Director of Research at PositionScale. “This survey is designed to give researchers a meaningful voice and foster systemic change. The results will provide actionable insights to university leaders, empowering them to create more supportive and effective research environments.”

Participants in the survey will contribute directly to a comprehensive report, which will be shared widely with Principal Investigators (PIs), university administrators, and policy-makers. This report aims to highlight best practices and critical areas needing improvement, setting a clear path toward better mentorship, training, and career support for researchers across Canada.

To encourage participation and thank researchers for their valuable time, PositionScale is offering participants a chance to win one of five $100 gift cards.

The survey is available now through March 15, 2025. Researchers and students across Canada are invited to participate by visiting the survey link provided.
